Felix Augustus Peckham (1837–1876), also known as F. Augustus Peckham, was a nineteenth-century American artist associated with Newport, Rhode Island. Born in Middletown, Rhode Island, Peckham demonstrated artistic ability from an early age and pursued painting despite serious physical limitations that affected him for much of his life. With only limited formal instruction, he developed his abilities largely through his own dedication to painting and became recognized for the skill and beauty of his work.

Peckham is particularly associated with portraiture, although surviving examples demonstrate the broader artistic interests of nineteenth-century American painters working outside the major metropolitan schools. His career was relatively brief—he died in 1876 at only thirty-eight years of age—and his paintings appear far less frequently than those of many of his better-known contemporaries. Table Top Still Life, painted in 1865, is an especially appealing example of nineteenth-century American still-life painting, combining familiar fruits with the more unusual presence of a coconut and the rich color of red wine in a carefully balanced tabletop arrangement.
